Scrapyard Revolt - Reese Prescott
“A fiercely protective, stubborn and physically strong woman. Although she seems intimidating and rough around the edges she often makes decisions with heavy consideration of kindness, mercy and morality.
She lives in a shanty town on the outskirts of "Central Pearling" alongside her family and friends, building her life out of the scraps and debris left behind. Her main duty is protecting her people from those that try to cause them harm.”
This is a unique character exploration, as (the same with the antagonist) I created the initial design as a hero shot for a Character Design class in my Post-Grad (shown on the left). I decided to revisit the design a few months later and break it down into more detail, to add more story telling, anatomical accuracy and personality into the character.
It was also an excellent practice in how to effectively display a character turn around and accessory call outs (pictured below). I was able to blend 2D and 3D for the prosthetic leg, and everything else was pure digital painting. My next goal is to explore more extensive photobashing within character design.
This character is still in progress as of June 2025.
